The Manual box version can deliver better MPG over the automatic version, when driven correctly/ you can cruise along in 6th gear at just above idle. I can get 38mpg/ 700+ miles a tank on a long run. Autos typically do 28-32 tops.
Engine is sweet and runs like a sewing machine. Pulls hard when required. Smooth turbo.
Decent and reliable workhorse Manual D3.
It’s had a load of work done to maintain, improve it and make it reliable.
I only really bought this to take on a European overland trip, in 2024. Which it successfully completed. 6000 miles in six weeks, all the way to Greece and back.
My daily driver is a TDV8 Range Rover, but I wanted a Manual D3 for that trip specifically. I have not used it since getting back in 2024, but it’s recently been MOT’d, ready for the next owner potentially.
I have put it back on the road again now, taxed on the road, ready for any test drive. I am using it for local journeys again now.
Of course there’s always more work that can be done to improve the car, as always for Land Rovers.
Fuel tank pan has a rust hole- not an MOT issue, as the tank is still perfectly secure, but if I was keeping it, I would consider replacing/ or welding it up,.
Drive train can clunk if you lift off the clutch quickly. It might need a prop shaft or bush somewhere. The clutch is perfect though, no slipping, I believe it’s had a new clutch before in its lifetime.
MOT advisory for rear brake pipes. If I keep it I would do the work, but it’s up sale as is. No leaks, brakes are working, just a job on the list for the future like any advisory.
Although there’s loads of meat left on the brake pads, the discs could ideally do with replacing. The brakes work fine, but the discs could be better being fussy. I have bought a new full set of discs and pads. They can go with the car, if the full asking price is met. I paid about £250 for the parts alone.
WORK DONE/ checks made- there’s a lot of it, I tried to list as much as possible to show it’s been cared for in my ownership.
