The latch fits inside the door and release/ latches the door open or closed. 

Right rear.
Suitable for 86-89 3.6/2.9 model XJ40 
excludes locking solenoid & door ajar switch. These can be transferred over from your existing damaged match, 
Latch only, as pictured. 

Good used condition/ working order. I strongly recommend all latches are adequately lubricated before use. Otherwise it putts excessive force on the linkages, which can lead to breakages on the latch or door handles.
